Cantor Michael Glozman
Cantor Michael Glozman has recently joined Beth Ami Congregation.
His wealth of musical experience, accomplished piano playing, and soulful renditions of traditional nusach, transports his congregation to spiritual heights.
He was born in the former Soviet Union to a musical family of violinists and studied music from the age of three. He graduated as a Choir Conductor from the Moscow A.V. Sveshnikov College of Chorale Art. After making Aliyah to Israel with his family in 1991 he continued his studies at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv under Prof. Avner Itai.
Cantor Glozman is a choir conductor, composer, pianist and arranger. He has composed music for Israeli stage and has acted in many theatrical productions. He created choral ensembles to accompany chazzanim in Israel and throughout the world performing for special Shabbatot, Yamim Tovim and High Holidays. Michael has worked with world-wide acclaimed cantors and conductors. In addition to conducting choirs Michael arranged and composed his own pieces incorporating them into his repertoire. This experience brought him to pursue a new path, in which he studied and graduated as Chazzan from the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute under the supervision of Cantor Naftali Herstik, former Chief Cantor of the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem.
Michael created “Misha and Friends“- a program where he performs and arranges music with talented musicians and cantors. These performances have delighted audiences with his musical interpretations of classical, jazz, Broadway, Israeli folk, contemporary and traditional Jewish liturgy.
His daughter, Yael is married and lives in Israel, has served in the IDF, and recently received her degree in nursing from the Tel Aviv University and presently working in the pediatric surgical unit at Shibah Hospital.
